Sigfox Launches the Chicago Hacking House

Posted On: 06/17/2019

  • On June 4, Sigfox hosted the launch of their Hacking House program at the Chicago Connectory. Following the success of their Hacking Houses in Taiwan and San Francisco, Sigfox decided to leverage Chicago's numerous universities, their existing Chicago-based team, and the Chicago Connectory, to bring a Hacking House to Chicago.

The Hacking House program is a 3-month cycle opened to students, freelancers, and IoT entrepreneurs. Each team is a mix of hardware, software, and marketing profiles working together to solve real-world problems using IoT technology.

Over the next 3 months, Sigfox and the Hacking House participants will be members of the Chicago Connectory where they will be working with mentors to create their IoT solutions.

The Hacking House provides real solutions for real problems faced by customers using the IoT. During the San Francisco Hacking House, Team Lali created an application that identifies and alerts firefighters when and where a fire starts, thus, providing the information needed to quickly reach and contain a fire before it can cause widespread damage.

Thank you Sigfox for hosting the Hacking House at the Chicago Connectory. We look forward to the solutions their participants will create!

Let's build a connected world together.
